For more than 20 years, Borys Todurov has been visiting countries to perform surgeries as part of humanitarian missions. He has operated on more than 25 children with congenital heart diseases in Egypt, Azerbaijan, and Kosovo. He cooperated with Iraqi doctors to create a joint project to save children.

Performed nine heart transplantation surgeries
For 15 years, heart transplantation was impossible in Ukraine. Borys Todurov has begun a new chapter of transplantology in Ukraine. He developed his own efficient method of pulmonary embolism treatment and surgical procedures as an alternative to heart transplantation.
He does volunteer work and shares his experience with future surgeons.
Since 2014, when the war began in the Donbas, he has been an active volunteer in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone. He has been visiting the war zone to provide humanitarian aid and supply Ukrainian soldiers with medicine and military uniforms. He has performed more than 250 cardiac surgeries on civilians in the war zone.
A week before Crimea was annexed by the Russian Federation, he came to a naval base in Feodosia, together with a surgeon and an anaesthetist, and brought ambulance dressing in case of hostilities.
He is the Head and the lecturer of the Department of Cardiac Surgery, Roentgen Endovascular, and Extracorporeal Technologies at the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine
He has authored 500 scientific papers and has patented 21 utility models.
He has been an academic adviser for one Doctor and five Candidates of Medical Sciences.
In his research topics, he prioritizes methods of cardiovascular disease treatment for children and adults.
